Gallery Glass Vase
Did you know you can create the look of gorgeous stained glass in any design you like? It’s true! With FolkArt Gallery Glass paints, you can make your own colorful clings that apply to any glass surface or mirror, transforming it into a work of art. Take a look…
You’ll need:
Glass {a piece from a photo frame works great} or leading blanks
Toothpick
Paper Towel
Feather Printout or other design
Glass vase
Step 1: Place your printed design under your leading blank or flat piece of glass.
Step 2: Trace the outline of your design with Gallery Glass Liquid Leading.
If you make an error, just wipe it off with a paper towel and start over. Let this part dry at least 3 hours. Allow it to dry overnight for best results. If you’re tracing a hand lettered word, like my “love,” it will be ready to use as soon as it dries. If you’re working with a design you plan to color, like the feathers, you’ll continue on to the next step.
Step 3: Fill in the open spaces with whatever colors of Gallery Glass paint you like.
Make sure the colored paint goes all the way to the edges of the leading, touching it. Otherwise, you’ll have gaps and the designs won’t peel off like you want them to. If you get bubbles in the colored areas, you can pop them with a toothpick.
Let your designs dry overnight. Then, you can easily peel them off the glass backing and apply them wherever you want: windows, a vase, a mirror, or any other glass surface!
You can re-position your clings anytime you like and reuse them over and over. To store them, just place them on a piece of glass and put the glass in a plastic bag. That’s all there is to it! You can create different clings for different seasons and holidays and change them throughout the year.
What do you think? Is this a project you’d like to try?
