Last month, we got a really cool sample kit of fun crafting supplies free from Craftprojectideas.com.
Remember that? We used it to make pom-pom monsters:
and this googly eye Monster Mirror.
...and we didn't stop there! We also got a melty bead kit. Remember doing those as a kid? I sure do. Only these beads don't just melt, they glow in the dark! How fun is that? Little Crafter wanted to make a star, and his favorite color is blue, so this is how it turned out.
He likes to keep it on his night table and he has fun turning it around and around in his hands while singing {well, he doesn't actually sing, I guess it's more like saying} "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
He thinks it's the coolest thing ever. So imagine his excitement when we got another package in the mail from our friends at Craftprojectideas.com and it was a special limited edition Halloween Melty Bead Kit!
Oh, boy!
This kit comes with an assortment of beads in white, black, yellow, orange, green, red, and purple, and they all glow in the dark too! It also gives ideas for ten different projects that are pictured on the box, and you can find closeup photos on the website for exactly how to make them on the pegboards.
We decided to start with a pumpkin, since Little Crafter is kind of obsessed with them {wonder where he gets that from}. This particular craft is a little challenging for him since it's really designed for kids ages 5 and up because it requires such fine motor skills. But, we modified the design a bit so it would be simpler for him by making it just a plain orange pumpkin instead of a jack-o-lantern. The candy corn was my favorite, so I worked on that one.
I think they turned out really cute! He is thrilled with them, and has added them to his little nightstand collection.
Once again, a huge thank you to Craftprojectideas.com for your encouragment of our crafting addiction! We had fun!
There are 8 different limited Halloween craft kits available in stores, including bead pals, bobble heads, body art and tattoos, and tie-dye. I'm thinking we'll have to make a trip to Wal-Mart soon to pick up the personalized Halloween jewelry kit...I know someone who would love to get his hands on that!
But before we do that, I have an exciting announcement for you! Guess what? Craftprojectideas.com not only wants to give us great crafting supplies, they want to include you too! They have generously offered to give away a Halloween Melty Bead Kit just like the one we received to one lucky reader here at One Artsy Mama!
