Hand Lettering for Laughter!

Friends, I want to take a minute to share some BIG and EXCITING news with you! You may have noticed it’s a little quiet here on the blog lately. Part of that is because our lives have been a little crazy…Little Crafter had a rough bout of the flu for a week right after Easter, then we headed straight into a weekend full of celebrating Scout’s 11th birthday! The other reason, though, is that I’m hard at work on a new project that I think you’re going to be as excited about as I am…

As you know, I currently have two books on the market: Hand Lettering for Relaxation and its Portugese counterpart Caligrafia para Relaxar, as well as a third book releasing this October. Express Yourself is a hand lettering book designed just for kids, with designs, fonts, and illustrations they’ll love to learn and create.

But if you know me well, you won’t be surprised that I have something else in the works too. I have a tendency to dream big, so before the kids’ book was even finished, I was chatting with my fabulous publisher, Page Street, about my next idea. Sure enough, they liked it too and we signed a contract for a brand new book.

Hand Lettering for Laughter is going to be an interactive workbook in the same format as the original, and it’s going to be full of new fonts, embellishments, layout tips, and much more to take your lettering journey to the next level. The designs you’ll create are all based on humorous quotes that will have you laughing while you letter…similar to what you’ll find on my Instagram account. The tentative release date is March 2019, so in less than a year it might be in your hands.

It’s incredibly exciting for me, and at the same time, I am up to my ears in work! In the same week, I’m doing final edits on the manuscript for the kids’ book and drafting designs for this brand new project. It’s a lot to juggle, which means I may not be able to share projects quite as frequently as I like here on the blog. Don’t worry, I’ll still be posting whenever I get a chance and I have some exciting upcoming projects to share with you in the next few weeks. In the meantime, check out the archives for all kinds of hand lettering tutorials, craft projects, and more. There’s lots to see and do!

I can’t thank you all enough for your support of what I do; it’s only because of you and your response to my original book that any of the rest of this is happening. If you hadn’t bought it and read it and told your friends, there would be no follow up books. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I wanted to create something that would make a difference for people and to see your posts and projects is a daily encouragement for me. Keep on creating friends, and I will too. I can’t wait for you to see what’s coming!
