Hello Spring Practice Pages & Printable {plus a giveaway!}

Friends, can you feel it? Spring is in the air! It may not officially be here yet, but a girl can dream, right? Today, I’m joining forces with some other lettering artists and bloggers to share printables, practice pages and tutorials that are perfect for this time of year. I created a pretty little floral design to help welcome spring. You can make your own version, use my floral background and do your own lettering, or just print out my entire design. Sound good? Let’s get started!

Hello Spring Printable

I wanted to make this project something anyone and everyone could enjoy, so if hand lettering isn’t your thing, you may want to go with the simple printable option. Just download my design to your computer, then print it out as an 8×10 on your choice of paper or cardstock. Pop it in a frame and it’s ready for display.

Hello Spring Hand Lettered Printable

If you want to try your hand {literally} at lettering the phrase yourself, here is practice page you can download and print! I combined a simple uppercase print, “HELLO,” with the word, “Spring,” written in brush script. If you’re new to lettering, you may want to start out with faux calligraphy to get the brush script style. Or, you can challenge yourself and work on mastering your brush technique. Either way, you can use this printable page to help you practice. Trace over my words using your favorite markers and pens, then use the empty guidelines to try writing them on your own. You can also upload this page into the Procreate app on your iPad Pro if you’d like to practice digitally.

Once you’ve gotten the hang of writing the phrase, just save the floral wreath image to your computer, print it out, and then letter inside to create a more personal finished project! It’ll be like you and I worked together to make it. Isn’t it fun to collaborate?

The final option is to use my design as a springboard for creating a masterpiece that’s all your own. To create the wreath, just trace a circular object with a pencil, then use that as a guide for drawing several round green vines. Then, add in some leaves and flowers in your favorite springtime colors! Be sure to check out my tutorial for simple flowers if you need inspiration. I created mine on the iPad Pro, but colored markers will work just as well.
