‘Tis the season to come up with perfect holiday gifts for everyone on your list! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some of my best ideas for DIY and storebought presents, and today I’ve got one more that’s sure to be a hit with just about anyone! How do I know? Two words: Coffee and Chocolate. Here are two easy ways you can combine these classic favorites into instant gifts that are quick, easy, and totally affordable!
Coffee & Chocolate Gift Basket
To create this gift basket, all you have to do is grab a pack of Starbucks® Holiday Blend Packaged Coffee or K-Cups and Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles at your local Target and arrange them in a seasonal basket, along with a decorative mug and plate so your recipient has everything he/she needs to enjoy the treats! I created this particular hand lettered holiday dishware by cutting the words and snowflakes from adhesive vinyl and adhering them to a plain white mug and plate. For a full tutorial, check out my Holiday Dishware post where you can also grab the free cut file to make your own! If you don’t have the time for a DIY, you can just purchase decorative dishware while you’re at Target for the goodies.
This gift basket is so pretty and festive that it doesn’t even require wrapping to be a beautiful gift! Instead, just tie a tag on the front and get ready to be loved by the person receiving it! I chose Starbucks Holiday Blend and Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles for my gift basket because not only are they the perfect compliment to one another, they’re classic favorites you can fall back on if you don’t know someone’s particular tastes. The coffee is a seasonal tradition, made from aged Sumatran beans that create a smooth, spicy blend just about any coffee drinker will enjoy, and who doesn’t love milk chocolate? I used the packaged coffee, but if you happen to know that your recipient regularly uses a Keurig, you can get K-Cups instead.
This entire gift, basket and all, can be created for about $20-$25, depending on the dishware you choose. Plus, right now, Target is offering a few in-store specials, including a Buy 3, Save $6 offer on roast & ground coffee and a 2/$8 sale on 6 oz packages of Lindt truffles. Not only is it easy and affordable, this gift works equally well for men and women, and is also appropriate to give as a gift to a couple, like your neighbors. If you’re looking for a smaller gift idea for a teacher, co-worker, or friend, you can do a variation where the mug itself becomes the container…check it out!
Coffee & Chocolate Mug Gift
This smaller gift is perfect for an individual and it also allows you to make multiple presents using the same package of coffee and truffles. Take a look. First, make or buy a fun mug and place three packages of VIA Peppermint Mocha inside. Then, fill the remaining space in the mug with individually wrapped Lindt LINDOR Peppermint White Chocolate Truffles. Mine held about ten, but it all depends on the size of your mug.
Two boxes of VIA Peppermint Mocha will give you ten packets, which is enough for three mug gifts with one packet left over for you to enjoy yourself! There are also more than enough truffles for one gift in a 6 oz package, so you can keep the extras, or buy a few bags and make more gifts. Trust me, though, once you taste these Peppermint White Chocolate Truffles, you’re not going to want to give them away! I never met a truffle I didn’t like, but these are hands down my absolute favorite kind! They pair absolutely perfectly with the Peppermint Mocha flavor of the coffee. Mmm…is there anything better than peppermint and chocolate together?!
Once you’ve filled your mug, all that’s left is to print out a gift tag and tie it to the handle. I created this hand lettered tag specifically to go with my coffee and chocolate gifts…don’t you think, “eat, drink, and be merry” is the perfect saying since that’s exactly how to enjoy this present? I’m offering the tag as a free printable for you; just click the link below and download it, then print it out on card stock. Cut around the outside edges, punch a hole, and it’s ready to use!
One mug gift can be made for around $12…possibly less if you take advantage of Target’s Buy 3, Save $6 offer between now and December 31. And remember, one package makes more than one gift, so really, these gifts probably cost about $10 each, depending on your mug. Here are a few other coffee and chocolate pairings you might want to use as you create your own delicious holiday gifts.
For peppermint lovers who also enjoy their Keurig machines, you can’t beat Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Caffe Latte K-Cups and Lindt LINDOR Peppermint Cookie Milk Chocolate Truffles. These treats are clearly a perfect pair, and the Peppermint Mocha Caffe Latte K-Cups are my new obsession! You add a pre-mixed powder to your cup first, then brew the coffee pod over top. Stir it together, and you’ve got a delicious, creamy cup of minty coffee.
If by some chance, someone on your list doesn’t happen to be a coffee lover, try this combo instead: Tazo Chai Classic Latte Concentrate and Lindt LINDOR Peppermint White Chocolate Truffles. This way, tea lovers can enjoy a delicious gift too!
What do you think? Which of these perfect pairings will you use for your holiday gifting and entertaining this year?
Don’t forget to take advantage of these great Target in-store offers now through December 31:
- Buy 3 and save $6 (VIA: $4.30 each, Roast and Ground Coffee: $5.99 11 or 12oz)
- $9.99 for 20oz K-CUP
- $9.99 9 and 16-ct Starbucks and Tazo
Plus, now through December 24, Lindt 6 0z packages of truffles are 2 for $8.
