New Year’s Eve is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate here in the Artsy House! Not only is it the perfect time for remembering all the fun we’ve had and setting goals for the year ahead, it’s also a totally appropriate occasion to glitter all the things! New Year’s is a time for lots of sparkle and shine, which is perfect for someone like me whose favorite color is glitter.

Today, I want to share a quick and easy project with you that’s perfect for your New Year’s festivities…monogram wine charms! These are a fun way to make sure you know whose glass is whose, then guests can take them home as favors. They require just a few basic supplies and hardly any time at all; here’s how I made them and you can too.

Materials:
Cork letters
Silver glitter glue
Fine silver glitter
Eye pin
Ear wire beading hoops {or 20 gauge wire}

Step 1: Cover the top of your letter with silver glitter glue.
This actually gives pretty good coverage, but I wanted it to sparkle even more.

Step 2: While the glue is still wet, sprinkle the surface with very fine silver glitter.
Of course, you can customize these any way you want. Using coarse glitter and/or different colors will give you a totally different look that’s still lots of fun!

Step 3: After the glue is completely dry, insert an eye pin into the top of the letter.
Eye pins are typically used in jewelry making; they’re a piece of wire with a loop at the top. Just push the wire straight down into the letter {the cork is soft enough to allow that} and the loop will act as your hanger. If you like you can add a tiny drop of glue to hold it in place, but I didn’t find it necessary.

Step 4: Add a wire circle to the loop.
I used beading hoops that I had in my jewelry making stash, because they’re already shaped into circles! If you don’t have any, you can take any piece of wire and bend it yourself.

Now your charms are ready to display on wine glasses! These also work well as tie-ons for packages and as ornaments too.

Step 5: Clean up!
As much as I love glitter, we all know it can be messy. Add glue to the mix, and you can imagine what my hands {and floor} looked like. Luckily, I have a faucet with Delta Touch2O® Technology at my kitchen sink. We had one at our first house, and I loved it so much that when we moved, I insisted we install one in the new home too. With Touch2O®Technology, you can simply tap anywhere on the spout or handle of the faucet to start and stop the flow of water, which makes things so much easier when your hands are full or messy like mine were. It’s an incredibly helpful feature for crafters and bakers!

Delta is all about making cleanup as quick and easy as possible, so you have more time to spend making fun projects and great memories with a #HappiMess.

In addition to the faucet I have, there’s Delta Touch2O.xt™ Technology for the Bath which features proximity sensors that can turn the faucet on when your hands are within 4″ of the faucet, and the In2ition® Plus H2OKinetic® Showerhead, which gives you more coverage without using more water.

I was able to clean up in no time, which gave me more time for other holiday preparations and just to enjoy time with my family.roostertailkitchencounters

Delta wants to hear about your HappiMess moments and favorite traditions too. Head over to their website to share your photos and stories or share on your social media using #HappiMess!

  1. I picked up a bunch of cork letters from Michaels over the summer and have been trying to think of different things to do with them – wine charms are a fantastic idea! Also, I love that your nails match the wine charms; You can never have too much glitter!
