It’s coming! Is your family as excited as mine about the release of the newest Star Wars™ movie, The Force Awakens? I’ve got one big man and one little man who can barely contain themselves as they wait to see what happens next to their favorite characters. Which, of course, means that they both also want all the Star Wars™ things they see. T-shirts, figurines, pajamas, building kits, boxer shorts…you name it, they want it. So, when I saw that some of our favorite cereals are available right now in special boxes and with toys inside, of course I had to grab them.

The second Little Crafter saw the box of Star Wars™ Honey Nut Cheerios® I bought, he insisted we open it immediately to find out which Droid viewer we got. We were lucky enough to find the newest member of the Star Wars family, BB-8! Here’s the view when you look inside and hold it up to the light.

Although all three of us enjoy eating the cereal as is, I thought it would also be fun to make a special themed snack with it. Everyone knows cereal bars are delicious, so how much more awesome would they be if you pretend they’re light sabers, right? Here’s my little “Saber Snack”; it only takes four ingredients and a few minutes to make and boy is it ever delicious! It just might be the tastiest snack in the galaxy…

I found that using a loaf pan helped me to get the long, thin bars I wanted. I just made one cut across the center of the pan, then three long cuts vertically and ended up with eight “cereal sabers.”

To make things even more interesting, you can add color {and yummy taste} to your sabers by dipping them in  Star Wars™ Go-Gurt. Will you make yours for the light side or the dark side?

Like the cereals, the Go-Gurt is available in specially marked packages and even some limited edition flavors like Empire Berry Smoothie and Jedi Strawberry Smoothie.
