Simple Chain Infinity Scarf

Hello One Artsy Mama readers! It’s Bethany from Whistle and Ivy, and I am bringing you another crochet pattern today. I am so exciting that it’s finally sweater and scarf weather! Don’t get me wrong, I love the summer sun and warm weather, but by the end of August, I am ready for a change. This crochet infinity scarf gets me in the mood for chilly air and hot cocoa!

I have to tell you, if you don’t know how to crochet and want to learn with a very simple project, this is the scarf for you! It is made entirely of chains! Chains are the foundation for crocheting, and so easy to work. Amy actually has a wonderful picture tutorial for working chains HERE for her Crochet 101 series. Definitely give them a try.

What you need:

Size J Hook
5 oz Lion Brand Hometown USA (Dallas Gray)

To make this scarf, simply work the entire ball of yarn into a very long string of chains. Tie off the last chain by pulling the end through and tugging tight. From here, form a loop with the end, and measure how low or high you want your infinity scarf to hang on your neck. Once you have a good length, start wrapping your yarn. I make a few loops tighter and looser, so they would hang slightly higher and lower, giving the scarf a little bit of dimension. When you have about 2 feet of chains left, stop wrapping. Find where your beginning is, and start wrapping the 2 foot-long end around the strands, securing the beginning tail. Finish by putting a dab of hot glue on the wrapped end, and tuck it under the wrapping. That’s it! Can you believe how easy?
