Elegant Pearl Necklace

Hey, friends!  I made this necklace back in March for a fancy dance and showcase we were attending, and I just realized I never shared it with you!  It’s modern and elegant, and super-easy to make!  Here’s what you need:
Materials:
– 18 pearl beads
– 9 small clear crystals
– 9 eyepins
– silver chain cut into segments {8-2″ pieces, 1-9″ piece}
– wire cutters and needlenose pliers

Step 1: Start by making your pearl and crystal pieces.  Place two pearls, separated by a crystal, on an eyepin.

Step 2: Bend the wire until you have a 90 degree angle using your needlenose pliers.

Step 3: Trim the excess wire.

Step 4: Use your pliers to form a wire loop.  To do this, grab the very end of the wire piece and roll it back toward the bead.

Repeat until you have nine of these.

Step 5: Open the loop on one end of the first pearl piece by twisting gently {never pull!}.  Attach a 2″ chain segment.  Open a loop on your next pearl piece and attach it to the other end of the chain segment.  Repeat until all nine pearl pieces are attached by 2″ segments.  Then, finish by attaching the first and last ones to your 9″ chain.

I didn’t add a clasp of any kind since it easily goes over the head.  If you choose to; however, you can cut the 9″ segment in half and attach any type of closure you prefer.

This necklace has to be one of the trickiest projects I’ve ever tried to photograph since it’s so long AND it’s so white/clear!  Here’s a peek at how it looks with an outfit; I think this gives you the best idea of the overall effect!

I made it to go with my Pearl and Crystal Memory Wire Bracelet; I think they look great paired together, or individually too!

What do you think?  Can you see yourself making/wearing this necklace?
Hugs & Glitter,
