One Dress, Styled 5 Ways

Hey, friends!  I know many of you love fashion as much as I do, especially when it’s both trendy and affordable.  I’m excited to introduce you to a site today that you may not have heard of called:

Tailor and Stylist
I first learned about Tailor and Stylist when a fellow blogger hosted a review of their products.  I immediately hopped on the site and discovered that not only do they sell stylish dresses, tops, bottoms, and outerwear, they also have shoes, purses, and accessories!  When they agreed to let me do a review for you, I was thrilled and then completely indecisive.  I had the hardest time choosing which item I wanted most…I mean, look at some of the choices:
Maxi With a Swirl - Navy,  Sweet Serendipity Dress, Emerald Green Spade Dress
Finally, I settled on the Darling Dotted High/Low Maxi.  You know I’m a sucker for polkadots, and I thought the waterfall hemline was a lot of fun.
It arrived in the mail really quickly, and I was pleased to find that it’s a comfortable, perfect fit.  I think my favorite thing about it is how versatile it will be in my wardrobe.  I thought the best way to prove it would be to show you…so, here is one dress styled 5 ways!
LOOK #1: Keep it Simple, Sister
I wanted to really let the dress be the center of attention so you can see how fabulous it is all by itself!  I dressed it up with a little bling and my favorite stilettos, which would be just right for a summertime date night.
Black pumps: Mossimo for Target
Pearl and Crystal Wrap Bracelet

LOOK #2: Red, White, and Black
It’s still a little chilly here in Artsy Land to be going strapless, so I added a cute little cropped sweater along with some red/pink accessories.

Black Platform Heels: Mossimo for Target
Red Belt: Express
Origami Owl Locket
Ombré painted wooden bracelet
Red/Pink Teardrop Earrings: made by me

 LOOK #3: Hello, Yellow!
I thought this color combo was fun for spring and I love how the denim shirt and striped flats make the outfit casual enough for a playdate at the park or a trip to the coffeehouse with some girlfriends.  I’ve been really hesitant to try the new trend of mixing stripes and polka dots, but somehow this works for me.

Striped Yellow Flats: Target
Denim Shirt: NY&Co
Turquoise Belt: Target
Yellow Bracelet and Necklace
Turquoise Shell Earrings

LOOK #4: Sweaters, Scarves, and Silver
I wanted to try a look where the dress functioned more as a skirt.  So, I buttoned my favorite cardigan all the way up and added my favorite scarf.  The silver in the clutch and my shoes brings out the silver sequins on the scarf.  Why be plain when you can sparkle?

Silver Flip Flop Heels: Target
Magenta Cardigan: Target
Wide Black Belt: Kohls
Turquoise Watch: Target
Turquoise and Silver Scarf: NY&Co
Turquoise Shell Earrings
Silver Clutch: Bath & Body Works

LOOK #5: Positively Pink

For this look, I decided to layer a v-neck tee over the dress, belt it, and wear my favorite shoes!

Magenta Flats: Target
Pink v-neck tee: NY&Co
Wide Black Belt: Kohl’s
Turquoise Watch: Target
“I Love You” Stamped Necklace: The Vintage Pearl
Turquoise Shell Earrings

What do you think, friends?  Which is your favorite look?  It’s funny, breaking down each outfit made me realize a few things about myself and my wardrobe…apparently all of my shoes come from Target {as do many of my accessories}, I’ve made pretty much all the jewelry I wear, and evidently I have a thing for belts.  I also realized seeing all those photos side by side that I need to leave at least some of my bangs out when I pull my hair back.  Hmm.  In any case, I just love finding fun but versatile things to add to my wardrobe, because I know I can wear them for a variety of occasions!  My favorite part of the whole thing was when I tried the dress on for the first time and walked downstairs, Little Crafter got a huge smile and said, “Ooh, Mommy!  You look so pretty!  That is a great dress! If you liked what you saw in this post, hop on over to Taylor & Stylist to see some of their other great clothes and accessories!

These looks are wonderful! I like the last one with the pink the best! I wouldn’t have guessed that a strapless dress could be so versatile. Off to see what other cute things they have!

Can’t wait to try this site out! If anything, I’m a clothes horse & wanna-be fashionista. If I can find a store that seems adorable pieces, that are on trend, but not trendy, different, AND still budget conscious? I’m all about it and totally willing to,try them out and spread the word if it’s good stuff. Thanks for sharing the link and a nice promo code….. I’m going to have to share any new scores!

This dress is fricking awesome and I think I’m going to buy it and then look to your stylings to wear it different ways. I never would have thought of treating it like a skirt and putting a sweater over it. Brilliant!

FYI: I’m visiting from the Show and tell blog hop.
