Green Giant Surprise

Do you have a surprise talent?  Something that not everyone knows you can do?

I was thinking about what I could share that might surprise you, which is kind of tricky to do since you already know most of the things I’m good at.  You know I craft, many of you know I play the piano and sing, you know I’m a Starbucks connoisseur, and it’s pretty well known around here that I’m a ballroom/latin/swing dancer.

But…I bet many of you didn’t know that in addition to dancing, I also choreograph.
Trust me, it’s a whole separate thing.

One of the talents I’ve developed over time is listening to a piece of music and choreographing a dance routine that fits it.  The main opportunities I have to do this involve either showcase type performances {think Dancing With the Stars minus the revealing costumes} or first dances for wedding couples.  Not only do I have to string together a bunch of dance moves, I have to consider the length, feel, and lyrics of the song and make sure the movements compliment the music.  I also have to work out the floorcraft {how and where dancers move around the floor} so that the routine is interesting to the audience and the moves are done where everyone can see them.  And, it’s my job to come up with cute little intros and final poses, and of course teach the routines to the couples I’m working with.

I also use this talent to work with 50 kids from ages 5-12 each summer for something called Summer Music Camp at a local church.  The director chooses a kids’ musical, and my job is to choreograph and teach 9 musical numbers for them.  It’s so fun to watch them learn the material and enjoy performing it for their families and friends at the end of the week!

Surprises can be a lot of fun, can’t they?  Especially when they’re good ones!  And today, I have a second one to share with you: Green Giant has a giant surprise… they’re now making Veggie Chips!

Now, you can enjoy a great tasting chip you feel great about eating!  And believe me, you will enjoy them!
I got to try the Multigrain Sweet Potato chips and the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips: Zesty Cheddar.
So. Let’s take a minute to play what we in the Artsy family call “the honestly game”…it’s where we say exactly what we think and feel, totally honestly.  So, honestly?  I thought they’d be awful.  I really did.  I mean how good could veggie chips really be, right?  I thought I might have to tell you about the giant surprise and just leave out my personal opinion about the taste.  But I was wrong.  So. wrong.  These chips are not only good, they’re delicious!!!  My sample bags arrived on Thursday, and by Sunday evening, they were not only empty, my husband had already bought another bag.  True story.
It just so happened that when the mailman dropped off the first two bags, my husband’s mother and grandmother were visiting.  They were anxious to help me sample the product, and both of them gave two thumbs up.  My mother-in-law is gluten intolerant, so there are very few snacks she can actually eat, but since the Multigrain Sweet Potato chips don’t contain wheat flour, she was able to enjoy them!  My 91 year old grandmother-in-law preferred the Zesty Cheddar tortilla chips {I do too, although I’m a huge fan of both varieties} and ate quite a few of them as an afternoon snack!
  • The Green Giant™ Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips – Zesty Cheddar Flavor are made with real vegetables, 17 grams of whole grain per serving (48g are recommended daily), and are naturally flavored.
  • The Green Giant™ Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips – Sea Salt Flavor are made with real sweet potatoes and made with 14 grams of whole grain. Plus, they contains 40 percent less fat than regular potato chips*!
  • *Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips (6g per 28g serving) have 40 percent less fat than regular potato chips (10g per 28g serving).

The only complaint I have about these chips is how hard it is to stop eating them!  Except for a little help from Gramma, I polished off the whole bag of Zesty Cheddar ones myself {oops}!  I have a feeling these will be making a regular appearance on the Artsy Family shopping list.  So, I’m glad there’s a printable coupon for 85 cents off a bag!

If you try them, {which you should!} I’d love to know which kind is your favorite!  Do you side with hubby and my Mother-in-law, or with me and Gramma?

Oh, and for some extra fun and surprises, Green Giant wants to see your surprise talents!  You can take a look on YouTube and see some of the talents they’ve unearthed so far, and even submit your own on Facebook!  As for me?  You can take a little peek at my talent in this showcase routine I choreographed for myself and my husband to Peggy Lee’s “Fever.”  This video shows our dress rehearsal…just ignore our noisy friends!

Hugs & Glitter {and quite a few chip crumbs…},
