Superbowl Blocks

What time is it?  GAME TIME!!!

In case you missed it, friends, my Ravens are going to the Superbowl!  That’s right!  The biggest game of the year.  We. are. pumped.

Here in Artsy-Land, we have been wearing purple for weeks and getting all kinds of excited about this game…it’s extra-special because the coaches of our team and our opponents are brothers, and because it’s the last career game for the final “original” Raven, the Pro Bowl linebacker and Hall of Fame shoo-in Ray Lewis.
So, of course we had to come up with some fitting decor for our home to show our team spirit, right?  Remember when my Crafty Ladies came over and we made some fun painted blocks?  I told you I’d show you what I did with a few of mine…here they are!
Super Bowl Blocks, Baltimore Ravens, Superbowl Champions

These were beyond easy to make.  Here’s all I used:

– unfinished wood blocks {these are 6″ pieces of a 2×4}
– white acrylic paint and paintbrush
– adhesive vinyl {purple, black, and brown}
– Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio

Step 1: Paint block and let dry completely.

Step 2: Type desired words {and football} in Silhouette Studio and cut out on vinyl.
*If you don’t have a Cammie of your own, you can still do this project.  It just means you have to do some tracing and cutting by hand.*

Step 3: Adhere vinyl to wooden block.

That’s it!  Couldn’t be easier!  I love how they turned out, and I can reuse them all of next football season too.  Even if we don’t win the game {which I sure hope and believe we can!}, it’s still a great achievement and honor that they get to play in this Super Bowl, so I’ll be proud to display these for years to come.  I suppose they could also double as bad call bricks…lol.
If you’re only going to be watching the game for the commercials, why not root for my boys just for me? 🙂  Can I get a big “GO RAVENS?”  Oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhh-oh.  {Be listening for that ‘Seven Nation Army’ chant…we’re a rowdy bunch of fans fo’ sho, hon!}
