Friends, today I have something very special to share with you. It’s cake. Well, not the kind you can eat, but a kind that {believe it or not} is even better.
My friend and fellow blogger Morena from Morena’s Corner and I have teamed up to bring you a new series that I not only think you’ll enjoy, but that will help all of us to use our creativity to brighten up our own neighborhoods and communities.
Here’s how it works.
CAKE stands for: Crafty Acts of Kindness Everywhere
The first Monday of each month, Morena and I will share a simple tutorial for an easy project you can make, along with instructions for what to do with it. Perhaps it’ll be something you can leave on the table for your waitress after you finish a meal. Maybe it’ll be something you can mail to someone as a surprise. Maybe it will be something to leave for your hairdresser or give to your neighbor. This month, you get to randomly leave it pretty much everywhere…you’ll see!
We’d love for you to join us in this special project each month. We’re also going to create a linky so that if you happen to do the project and share about it on your own blog {if you have one}, you can come back and link up your post to show us how it went! I can’t wait to hear all the fun stories that come from using our talents to brighten someone else’s day!
But enough talk, it’s time to introduce our first project! Here’s Morena with a simple tutorial for these adorable Mod Podge hearts you can share all over the place!
I’m sure you’ve heard of photobombing (dropping in a photo unexpectedly.) This month, I want to encourage you to go heartbombing! Spread smiles by leaving fun window cling hearts in unexpected places. It’s really easy to make your own window clings!
Supplies:
Mod Podge
Paint
Glitter
Freezer or wax paper
To make your own heart clings: Step one: Pour 1/3 cup Mod Podge into a bowl.
Step two: Add paint (about a teaspoon) and glitter to Mod Podge and mix well.
Step three: Use a brush to apply the mixture to the freezer paper. Paint it into a heart shape.
Step four: After it has dried, carefully peel the heart off the paper. It will cling to any glass surface.
Now you can go heart bombing! Leave your heart on cars, mirrors, windows, and any other place with a glass surface.
What do you think, friends? Is that fun or what?! I. can’t. wait. I think I’m going to get Little Crafter to help me make ours and put them all over the neighborhood. {And maybe at Starbucks too…hehe}. Stay tuned for updates on where ours end up; I’ll be sharing on Instagram {@oneartsymama}. And once you get yours made and shared, come on back and link up here so we can hear your story!
This is such a sweet and fun idea. I think I might make a few for me and my big kiddo to distribute!
