Chalkboard Heart Necklace

Want to make a DIY necklace you can change to fit your mood?  Want an inexpensive project that takes about two minutes to make?  You’re in the right place!  The other night, as I was looking through all the fabulous wooden supplies I got from Banglewood Crafts, I had an idea I think is really fun…and I hope you do too!
Materials:
– adhesive chalkboard vinyl
– scissors
– pencil
– small hole punch
– leather cord

Those of you without cutting machines will be happy to know I didn’t use Cammie this time; just did the old fashioned trace and cut!
Next {I forgot a pic of this step}, you peel off the backing and stick the vinyl heart onto the wooden one.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this chalk marker.  It wipes right off with a damp paper towel, but the writing doesn’t smudge when your finger brushes it.

Since it’s like a chalkboard, you can play around with all kinds of different designs, words, and ideas.  What would your heart say?

  1. I noticed your pretty lavender polish so nicely done also. And you thought nobody would notice? lol
I happen to have about 2 yds. of that vinyl, not the adhesive backed but I’ve got glue. I haven’t used any of it yet but sure am going to now. Wonder if teenage girls would like one of these necklaces. I’m so old I don’t know what kids 13 and 16 might like, they’re kinda picky. Well if they don’t like them I haven’t lost much. Glad I found this post off Too much time on my hands party. Lovin’ it. You have inspired me. Happy summer
