My Style: No nonsense leggings and tights

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there, friends!  Recently, I got some feedback on Facebook that you all were interested in seeing me periodically post about one of my passions besides DIY and crafts; fashion!  Honestly, I don’t really see them as entirely separate things; I kind of see my personal style as an extension of my creativity…each day when I pick an outfit, I’m trying to create something fashionable and beautiful.  It’s kind of like I’m the canvas and the clothes and accessories are the paints, vinyl, and yes, the glitter!  Maybe that’s why I enjoy putting outfits together so much!

Anyway, today I want to share one of my favorite tips for looking stylish using things you already have in your closet: Color Blocking

I. love. color. in my wardrobe and this is a really popular, on-trend way to wear it!  Basically, you choose three colors that compliment each other and build an outfit around them.  You can stick to all solids, or you can add in a pattern, like I did with the striped shirt below.  In this outfit, I stayed in the “jewel tone” family {my favorite!} with magenta, turquoise, and royal blue.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather wear a skirt than jeans any day because the part of my body I’m most self-conscious about is the stomach/ab area, aka, my “mommy pooch.” A high waisted skirt totally hides that and draws attention to other parts of the body instead.  A skirt also means you get to have fun with colored tights and leggings, which is a great way to color-block!!  Adding magenta tights to this outfit is such an unexpected pop of color and draws the eye to my dancer’s legs instead of that troublesome tummy area!  Whew!

Don’t have colored tights in your stash?  Never fear, No nonsense tights and leggings are super-affordable and easy to find in food and drug stores, as well as mass retail stores.  You can pick up a pair or two {or ten} when you do next week’s grocery shopping or when you’re running a quick errand.   For a very small investment, you can make a bold and colorful style statement!

Recently, No nonsense brought Jill Martin on board as a brand ambassador, which is exciting since Jill {the co-author of “I Have Nothing to Wear” and the NY Correspondent for Access Hollywood} is known for being sensibly fashionable and helping women make the most of the clothes and accessories they have.

To check out the great selection of colors and styles of tights and leggings No nonsense has to offer and to stay up to date on the latest deals and style news, you can connect with No nonsense on Facebook and follow @benononsense on Twitter.

Hugs, glitter, and colorful style!

I definitely need more color in my life, and maybe by summertime I’ll be brave enough to try some colored tights!
