Blingy Bangle

Hi, there friends and fans of Banglewood Crafts!  I’m Amy, aka One Artsy Mama, and I’m thrilled that Tiff has invited me here today to share with you how I decorated one of the wooden bangles from her shop!
Over at my blog, I share all kinds of different projects, including crafts for and with kids, home decor ideas, holiday activities and crafts, fashion tips, and DIY jewelry ideas.  One of my absolute favorite perks of the job is that from time to time, I get to sample and review products from businesses like Banglewood Crafts, and when my initial package of three bangle bracelets arrived, I could hardly wait to get started decorating them!
Here’s the one I’ll be sharing today:
BLACK AND SILVER METALLIC BANGLE
Materials:
– unfinished wooden bangle {these are the ones Tiff sent me}
– black acrylic paint {glossy is best}
– Martha Stewart liquid silver gilding
– paintbrushes
– Mod Podge {I used Super Gloss and Outdoor}

STEP 1: Paint the entire outside of your bangle using black acrylic paint.

STEP 2: Paint the entire inside using silver gilding.

STEP 3: Paint horizontal stripes around the bracelet using silver gilding.
The way I did this and tried to make it look even was to make the stripes the width of my brush.  I painted one stripe to start, then painted another directly across from it on the opposite side of the bangle.  Then, I painted a stripe in between those two, and one directly across from it.  I repeated that until I had 8 stripes that were pretty evenly spaced.

STEP 4: When dry, coat the entire bangle with one coat of Super Gloss Mod Podge, then a coat of Outdoor Mod Podge to help it be water-resistant.

That’s all there is to it!  Easy peasy!  Here are two other bangles I created using acrylic paint and Mod Podge.

Thanks SO much to Tiff for the opportunity to play with her fabulous products!  I’m totally loving them, and I think they turned out so stylish and fun!  Even my 4 year old son comments on them when I wear them.  Just the other day, he said, “Nice bracelet choice, Mommy!”  That’s my boy!
I would love for you all to stop by and visit at One Artsy Mama; Tiff is going to be guest posting and offering a $25 credit to her shop!  I know you won’t want to miss that!  You can also come follow along on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram; I love making new friends!
Hugs & Glitter!
