BOO! Mod Podge Canvas Wall Art

HAPPY OCTOBER!
Wow, where did September go?  Fall is officially here and now it's time to really start focusing on all things holiday!  I wanted to show you another of the projects I made using my box o'goodies from the fabulous folks at Plaid.  Remember all that Mod Podge and paint?  Well, here's another use for it:

BOO CANVAS

Materials:
- 12x12 canvas
- acrylic paint: white, yellow, orange, black, and purple {the purple was a fun metallic from FolkArt}
- Glitter Mod Podge
- Glow in the Dark Mod Podge
- wooden letters
- google eyes
- silver cord
- painter's tape
- paint roller and brushes

STEP 1: Divide canvas into thirds using painter's tape.

STEP 2: Using roller, apply white, yellow, and orange paint to canvas.  Cover with glitter Mod Podge and let dry.

STEP 3: Trace something round to make spider body.  Paint it in with black acrylic paint and add eight legs.

STEP 4: Cover spider with several coats of Glow in the Dark Mod Podge.  While Mod Podge is still wet, add google eyes and secure one end of silver cord.

STEP 5: Paint wooden letters using metallic purple acrylic paint.  When dry, add several coats of Glow in the Dark Mod Podge.  Adhere to canvas using Mod Podge.

STEP 6: Secure top of silver cord to top of canvas with Mod Podge, wrap around to the back and secure with Mod Podge or glue.

STEP 7: Enjoy!

I'm liking it!  So which Mod Podge project is your favorite so far?  The mother necklace, the Monster X-ing sign, the centerpiece, or the BOO canvas?

Happy Crafting!

  1. Hi Amy,
I'm a sucker for anything that is made with canvas and Mod Podge! I vote for the BOO canvas, although all three are BOO-tiful.

  2. LOVE this! Such a cute idea, plus I already have most of the materials on hand, right here at home. If you end up doing a Christmas canvas wall art, using these same materials, I'd love to see it! I'm looking for some holiday decoration ideas and you always come up with the cutest designs! Thanks so much for sharing this.

  3. I'm loving them all! If I had to choose one, I'd say the monster x-ing sign is just too cute. Who knew Mod Podge had so many different uses! I wish I could see what the glow in the dark looked like - does it work well?
