Flower Clip Card

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for cute, simple gift ideas.  Here’s a quick little something you can whip up in no time; all you need are a few basic supplies, and it’s sure to please any girl {grownup or little} on your list!
FLOWER CLIP CARD
A few weeks ago, I told you about visiting our friends’ new baby, little miss Rylie, and making a special sign for her room.  Well, as I was thinking about them, I remembered how when Little Crafter was first born, we had a huge outpouring of cards, gifts, visits, meals…then it kind of slowed down as we settled into the “new normal” as a family of three.  I wanted to do something to let the family know that we’re still thinking of them and hoping they’re adjusting well to parenthood.  Baby Rylie has lots of gorgeous dark hair, so I thought I would fix up a little hairclip or two for her.  Hopefully whe can wear them now, but if not, her mommy will have them for whenever she can.
MATERIALS:
fabric strips
felt scraps
hot glue
clips/bobby pins/pin backs
cardstock and scrapbooking paper
markers
STEP 1: Create fabric flowers.  You can make any kind you like.  To make these fabric rosettes, I start with a long strip of fabric, twist it, and roll it up while twisting.  Hot glue as you go to hold it together.  Then, glue a felt circle on the back.  There are lots of great, full photo tutorials on how to make these…this isn’t one of them. 🙂
STEP 2: Hot glue pins or clips to the backs of your flowers.  The grey flower has a clip, and the yellow one is attached to a bobby pin blank I got from Pick Your Plum.  You can also use regular pin backs too, depending on who they’re fore.
STEP 3: Create your card base.  I used a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of scrapbook paper with a 3 x 5″ piece of cardstock adhered on top.
STEP 4: Cut slits in your card base.  Then, slide clips or bobby pins in.
STEP 5: Decorate with stems, leaves, words, etc.
Then, give it away!
Happy Crafting!
