Welcome Wreath

Want to see my latest creation?
I wanted a new wreath for the door to replace the Eastery one I had on display.  A few months ago, I pinned this wreath from Destination Craft.  I loved the colors, the felt flowers…everything about it.  I had kind of forgotten about it, though, until I saw it linked up as an entry to One Crafty Contest!  That reminded me I wanted to make one!  I used a great felt flower tutorial from Fox Hollow Cottage {also linked up to the contest} and here’s what I ended up with:
Materials I Used:
– wreath form
– spool of white ribbon
– spool of coordinating ribbon
– one piece each of white, yellow, and turqouise felt
 – scrap of cardboard
– scrapbook paper
– alphabet stickers
– yarn
– scissors, hot glue gun and glue sticks, craft glue
STEP 1: Construct felt mums.  Tutorial here!
STEP 2: Wrap wreath in white ribbon, then with coordinating color.  I didn’t actually intend to use the striped ribbon, I was going to make it all white like my inspiration wreath was, but apparently 4 yards of ribbon wasn’t enough to go all the way around my wreath form!  So, I left spaces that I covered with the turquoise.
STEP 3: Arrange felt mums and hot glue in place.

STEP 4: Place stickers on scrapbook paper and trim to the size you like.  Attach to scrap of cardboard {mine used to be part of a graham cracker box} and secure to wreath with matching yarn.

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and how it looks on my door!  You can easily read the “welcome” from the street and it’s just so bright and cheerful!  Thanks to Destination Craft for the inspiration!!
Happy Crafting!

Funny, I just was asking tonight on fb if I should do a Summer wreath or Patriotic one? I was getting the crafty itch! I know I’ll be making flowers, I have loads of felt left. LOL

    Darling!! Great job 😉
