Thankful Buttons

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, isn't it?
And of course that means Christmas isn't far behind.  It seems to me, though, that each year the retailers start the Christmas advertising and sales earlier and earlier.  I can remember as a child eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, because that was when you knew Christmas was coming!  Now, by the time you see Santa in the parade, he's already been in your local mall for about a month.  This year, I actually saw Christmas decorations and supplies in Michaels in August!
Now, mind you, I loooove Christmas.  And yes, in the coming days and weeks, you will see me posting all kinds of holiday crafts and gift ideas {not to mention a whole series where some bloggy buddies of mine share their ideas too}.  But I also think it's a shame that Thanksgiving gets completely brushed aside just because it doesn't generate any retail dollars.  What ever happened to stopping and giving thanks?  In fact, isn't it ironic that the day right after we're supposed to count our blessings and be grateful for all that God has given us is the biggest shopping day of the year?  So, this year, I decided to create a few buttons to help remind us all to take the time this month to stop, be thankful, count our blessings, and rejoice in what we have.  To, as I'm famous for saying in my family, "give the turkey his time" and more importantly, give the Lord His time as we reflect and show gratitude for all we've been given.

Please feel free to grab any and all of these buttons that you like and display them on your blog, in your post, on your Facebook, or wherever they'll remind you to stop and give thanks!  Just right click, save to your computer, and they're all yours to upload wherever you like!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to write a guest post about homemade Christmas gifts...I know, I know...
Glad you love me anyway.

  1. LOL - too funny. It's easier being Canadian when it comes to Thanksgiving. We have month in between Thanksgiving and Christmas so it doesn't get muddled. You poor Americans are swamped much closer together. Makes decorating trickier, lol. Love the buttons!
