Knot My Scarf

One of my favorite things about fall {besides the seasonal drinks at Starbucks} is that I get to break out my chilly weather wardrobe.  Sweaters, long sleeves, boots, and yes, it’s scarf season!  I just learned a fun new way to tie a scarf and thought I’d share it in case you like it as much as I do.
{My apologies in advance for the crummy photos and the bad hair day…using the self-timer doesn’t always equal quality results!}
Step 1: Fold scarf in half and wrap around your neck with the loop on one side and the two ends on the other.

Step 2: Pull one end through the loop, leaving the other one out.

Step 3: Twist the loop one time below where the end comes through it.  Insert the second end.

Step 4: Pull gently to tighten.

Here is a close up look of the knot.
 Here it is with a thinner, solid colored scarf so you can see the knot a little more clearly.
I thought it was a fun twist on the “normal” way I tie them.  Like it?

Meanwhile, have you been enjoying the {Our} Home for the Holidays series?  I’m loving reading about all the different traditions, and I’m enjoying all the great seasonal inspiration linked up at the party so far!  Have you shared your ideas there yet?
And, it’s going to be a fun-filled week here at One Artsy Mama!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a Pinterest-inspired kids’ craft and on Wednesday for a blog swap with Vicky over at Mess for Less.
And of course, the first ever Shine On Friday party!!  Hope to see you there!

    I wanted to let you know that I featured Kayla on today’s edition of Make Yourself Monday for the DIY notepad you wrote about as a guest post on your blog. I’m guessing you’re the one who entered it. :o )

    Thanks for playing,

    Ooo, too cool! I can’t wait to try it!!!! I love the way a scarf can class-up any outfit. Scarves make me look more fashionable than I really am. I get the same affect with hats!

    I learned to knot my scarves like this last year and I absolutely love it! In fact, I’m wearing a scarf today tied this way. :) It’s definitely my go-to way to spice up an outfit!

    Very cute! Love scarves, but being from Florida we aren’t very experienced in tying them. I’ll have to try this! Too bad it is 80 degrees today. :(
