What's the plural of Octopus?

Am I the only one who gets super excited to receive "real" mail?  In today's world it seems like everything is done over the computer {case in point, this week alone we got invited to a wedding over Facebook and found out that my cousin is pregnant from a status update }.  So that makes it even more fun to actually get a letter or card...or better yet, a package...in your real live mailbox.  Today, I had something very special waiting in mine that I just have to show you!

Remember Great Giveaway Weekend?  Back in September, lots of fun handmade things made by some of my fabulous bloggy friends?  Remember me ooohing and aaahing over the cute little crochet octopus Amanda over at Scrap Project 365 had made?  Well, as a thank you for promoting her blog, she decided to send me one!!  {note to self: the not-so-subtle hinting worked!}  She asked what color, and I told her that although I'd personally choose purple, to make it blue since that's Little Crafter's favorite color.  And what kind of Mama would I be if I kept such a fun toy for myself?

Well...Amanda is such a sweet friend that when I opened the box, there were not one, but TWO octopuses octopi octopus...whatever...in there!  WAHOO!

They are so darn cute, and they're even more adorable in person!  Honest!
She sent this cute thank you card too...love that!  Storing that idea for later...

Anyway, here's a close up of Little Crafter's blue guy.  He's napping right now, so I can't tell you his reaction, but I'm pretty sure what it will be.

...and this little cutie is ALL MINE!  Are you loving that little flower in her hair? {Well, um, I guess they don't technically have hair...}

It's love at first sight.

I think since she's purple I'll call her Raven and she can be a pseudo-mascot for my team too...Go, Ravens!
Doesn't she look cute here in One Artsy Mama Headquarters?  See my oh-so-official blogging calendars there on the wall?  You could be on there...oh yes, a guest post, a feature, a giveaway, a blog swap...lemme know if you're interested!  Shameless blog promotion aside, isn't it cute?

Meanwhile, speaking of the blog...the Un-Giveaway is still going on; you still have a chance to bid on some amazing items and support cancer research at the same time!  It's a win-win!  My girl Amanda is one of the donors too, offering a cute little bear {in pink} to the highest bidder.  You know you want one.  And an octopus too.  Raise your hand if you think she should start an Etsy shop!  In the meantime if you want one of her creations, you'll have to bid {or shamelessly beg like I did}. :)

Well, off to enjoy some time with the boys!
And thanks, Amanda!  You totally made my day!

  9. Octopi! And those are adorable!! I hope I can one day be that good at crochet. I hate getting mail unless it's something fun like a package or wedding invitation. There's just way too much non-sense mail!
