Have I ever happened to mention how I feel about a certain little website called Pinterest?
I just love the abundance of amazing, crafty ideas out there!
I thought it was so simple and so sweet, and the best part is how you can change the message as often as you want by using a dry erase marker.
But I just hadn't gotten around to making one yet.
Then, last week I won a giveaway.
I got to choose my favorite print from andiejaye's Etsy shop! {You may know her from her awesome blog Crayon Freckles}
Here's the one I picked:

I thought the message on this one was so beautiful. It is just the kind of thing we're trying to teach Little Crafter and it ties in perfectly with what he's been learning about the fruit of the Spirit. I decided that the best place to put it would be in his little "classroom" downstairs where we're doing his preschool lessons. I figure every good classroom has fun posters; this can be one of his! When I went downstairs to try and find a spare frame to put it in, to my surprise, I found not one but two matching 8x10 frames. Immediately, I thought of the Pinterest idea I'd been wanting to do. So, I ran up to the craft room and got to work.
"I LOVE YOU BECAUSE" FRAME
Materials: photo frame with glass {can be any size; mine was 8x10}
scrapbook paper cut to size of frame
coordinating cardstock
printed words "I love you because..."
photo of your choice
I just laid mine out like a scrapbook page but left the right side blank so I had plenty of room to write.
You can really do anything you want; any colors you like or whatever works for you.
Then, I put it in my frame and wrote a few reasons that came to mind right away.
I think it's perfect because Little Crafter's favorite question at this age and stage is, "WHY?" If I had even just a penny for every time I hear "Why" in a day, I'd be set for life. Our conversations go like this:
{actual conversation we had in the grocery store}
LC: "Why does that cheese look like dat?"
Me: "It's mozzerella cheese."
LC: "Why do you use it?"
Me: "You use it on pizza."
LC: "Does daddy use it on pizza?"
Me: "No, he doesn't"
LC: "Why not?"
Me: "No, he doesn't"
LC: "Why not?"
Me: "It would make Daddy's tummy hurt."
LC: "Why would it make daddy's tummy hurt?"
Me: "Because he's lactose intolerant."
LC: "Why is he lactose intolerant?"
Me: "Because that's the way God made him."
LC: "Why is that the way God made him?"
Me: "You'll have to ask God."
Me: "You'll have to ask God."
I love him like crazy, but sometimes he makes me crazy with all those "why"s! This, however, is one why question I never mind answering: "Why do you love me?" I'm going to have fun coming up with new reasons and changing them for him. Seeing his face light up when I showed him for the first time and read him these three was priceless. I can't wait to hang both of these up in his classroom; I think the love theme ties them together just perfectly and will remind him of what's most important in our home.
