An Award!

It's an exciting day for this Artsy Mama!  I started this blog exactly one month and one day ago in the hopes that sharing some of the things Noah and I create would inspire others.  I had no idea how fun {and theraputic} it would be for me to post about our adventures.  I also had no idea what a linky party was, or how much I would enjoy seeing all the wonderful things created by other crafty bloggers.  It's been an interesting journey so far and I'm blown away by all the talent out there.  So it was a real surprise and honor today to find out that someone chose me...little old new-blogger me...to win an award!  Here it is:

OOooooooh, AAaaaaah! :)  Now that I've enjoyed my turn in the spotlight, here's what I have to do next:

Sooo, many thanks to the fabulous Joi and Erin at Heck Fridays!  These two ladies are sisters who have a fantastic blog with fun craft ideas and yummy recipes I'm sure you'll enjoy!  My personal favorite is the monkey-themed birthday party they threw for Erin's daughter Cheryl...Noah would have loved everything about it!  Cute decorations, adorable treat bags, great-looking "monkey chow!"  Check them out here:

2. Tell seven random facts about yourself.

1. I love music and have played the piano since I was 3 years old, but I hate to play in front of anyone.

2. I would love to live in the Myrtle Beach, SC area {or anywhere else in the South} but I'm too reluctant to leave my parents and extended family behind.  I would miss them too much and I want my son to grow up knowing them well and experiencing all the love of a close family.

3. I am the only child of an only child {my dad} and have an only child.  So often, people try to convince me that Noah "needs" a sibling, but the truth is, I honestly feel that our family is complete.  I love having all the time and attention to shower on Noah and I know that while another child would surely be a blessing in his or her own way, I am not willing to give up the close one-on-one relationship I have with my son.

4. I would secretly {ok, now not so secretly} looooove to be on So You Think You Can Dance, even though I'm too chicken...and soon too old...to try out.

5. I'm addicted to the NBC show Chuck...which is on tonight!  3 hours and counting...

6. I never learned to swim, despite taking a swimming class and several friends' good-hearted but poorly executed attempts to teach me.

7. I am fascinated by learning the Jewish roots of my Christian faith and seeing how much light it sheds on everything Jesus had to say.
